Michael Wesch has produced a short video about how the web has changed our lives. Web 2.0 is linking people and websites together in a way never seen before. Think of the 100 billion times per day people around the globe click on a web page!!!
The video really makes it really clear just how integrated the web is becoming. I felt that it provided a really good insight into what Web 2.0 is all about. Separation of content from style to enable the free flow and exchange of information. Michael Wesch is Assistant Professor of Cultural Anthropology at Kansas State University.
Most of us have come to know and love the PC. That remarkable little box of techno-wizardry that sits on our desk (or under it). But imagine if your PC could somehow be embedded into everyday objects. What if you could browse the Internet from your fridge? What if your bed could play you the latest podcasts?
It may all sound like fantasy but the world of “surface computing” is quickly approaching. Take a look at this amazing video and ask yourself if you’ve seen any of this technology anywhere before in the world of Science Fiction?
I’ll give you a hint. It was a 2002 Spielberg movie.
